Build a Career That Matters
Some jobs fill a schedule. Others build a career and make a real difference in people’s lives. At CRBR, our team shows up when homeowners and businesses need help most — after a fire, a flood, a burst pipe, or a wildfire that changed everything. That work matters. The people who do it well are worth investing in.
CRBR has been a leading restoration employer in Northern California since 1959. Over more than 60 years, we’ve built a team grounded in technical skill, honest communication, and genuine care for the communities we serve. Today, we have branches in Chico, Yuba City, Sacramento, and Redding, CA, along with our Reno, NV office — and we’re always looking for the right people to join us at every level.
Whether you’re new to the restoration industry or bring years of hands-on experience, CRBR offers a place to grow, a team that supports you, and work that means something at the end of every day.
Why Work at CRBR
A Team Built on More Than 60 Years of Trust
CRBR isn’t a startup. We’re not a franchise. We’re a locally owned company that has operated in Northern California since Verne Andreasen founded the business in 1959. That history shapes how we treat our team members — with the same respect and consistency we bring to our customers.
Our employees work alongside people who’ve been here for years — in some cases, decades. That kind of retention doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from investing in people, communicating honestly, and building a workplace where quality work gets recognized.
Training and Certification Support
The restoration industry requires real skill. IICRC certifications, safety training, equipment operation, hazmat protocols, moisture science — these take time to learn, and they make the difference between a good technician and a great one. Therefore, CRBR actively supports employee training and professional development across all of our branches.
New team members receive hands-on training alongside experienced technicians. Additionally, CRBR helps employees pursue IICRC certification and other credentials that build long-term career value — not just value to CRBR, but value that follows you throughout your career in the industry.
Meaningful Work, Every Day
When you work in water damage mitigation, fire damage restoration, or mold remediation, you’re not just completing a task. You’re helping a family get their home back. You’re helping a business reopen. You’re arriving on one of the worst days of someone’s life and leaving it better than you found it. That’s not something every job offers — and it’s something our team consistently says they’re proud of.
Open Positions and Departments
Restoration Technicians
Restoration technicians are the core of what we do. These are the people who arrive on-site, assess the damage, execute the mitigation plan, and see the project through from emergency response to completion. Work spans water extraction and structural drying, smoke and soot remediation, mold containment and removal, contents cleaning and recovery, and emergency board-up and property securing.
No prior restoration experience is required for entry-level technician roles. Consequently, we hire motivated people and train them the right way from the start. Physical stamina, attention to detail, reliability, and a genuine desire to help people are more important to us than a perfectly polished resume.
Construction and General Contracting
Restoration doesn’t end with mitigation. Rebuild, reconstruction, and renovation are a core part of CRBR’s service offering — and our construction and general contracting division needs skilled tradespeople across disciplines. Framing, drywall, roofing, flooring, tile, painting, and general finish work are all in scope. Experience in residential and commercial construction is an advantage. Familiarity with the insurance restoration process is a plus.
Furthermore, our upgrades, remodels, and home additions and home modification for accessibility programs create additional work for finish carpenters, ADA specialists, and renovation crews across all branches.
Estimators and Project Coordinators
Estimators and project coordinators are the connective tissue of a restoration job. They assess scope, build detailed estimates, communicate with insurance adjusters, coordinate scheduling, and keep projects running on time and on budget. Experience with Xactimate or similar estimating platforms is highly valued. Strong organizational skills and clear written communication are essential.
Additionally, familiarity with insurance claim processes gives candidates a meaningful head start. CRBR works with most major carriers — State Farm, Farmers, Allstate, USAA, and many others — so experience navigating those relationships is directly applicable.
Business Development Representatives
CRBR’s business development team builds and maintains relationships with insurance agents, property managers, real estate professionals, and commercial facility managers across Northern California and Reno, NV. This role is outward-facing, relationship-driven, and suited to people who enjoy connecting with others and representing a company they can stand behind genuinely.
Each branch — Chico, Yuba City, Sacramento, Redding, and Reno — has its own territory and its own community of relationships to develop. Therefore, candidates who know their local market and already have professional networks in these areas have a significant advantage.
Specialty Services Technicians
CRBR’s specialty services include biohazard and hazardous waste cleanup, crime and trauma scene response, encampment cleanup, and vandalism response and repair. These positions require composure under difficult conditions, strict adherence to safety protocols, and a professional, compassionate approach to sensitive situations.
Training is provided. Prior experience in a related field — healthcare, first response, environmental services, or general cleaning — is helpful but not required.
Administrative and Support Roles
Behind every effective field team is an equally effective office operation. Dispatch coordinators, administrative assistants, accounts receivable specialists, HR support, and marketing team members all play essential roles in keeping CRBR running at the standard our customers expect. These positions operate primarily out of branch offices but support field teams across the entire service area.
Where We’re Hiring
CRBR maintains active hiring across all five of our branch locations:
- Chico, CA (Corporate Headquarters) — serving Butte County, Glenn County, Plumas County, and surrounding communities. This is our founding branch and largest operation. Open positions span all departments.
- Yuba City, CA — serving Yuba County, Sutter County, Placer County, and Yolo County. This branch has grown significantly in recent years and has strong opportunities for technicians and estimators.
- Sacramento, CA — serving Sacramento County, Placer County, El Dorado County, Solano County, and the broader Sacramento metro area. Commercial restoration and construction roles are particularly active here.
- Redding, CA — serving Shasta County, Lassen County, Trinity County, Humboldt County, Tehama County, and Del Norte County. This branch covers a wide geographic footprint and values self-sufficient, organized team members who can work independently on remote job sites.
- Reno, NV — serving greater Reno-Sparks, Carson City, Fernley, Fallon, and western Nevada. Our Reno branch is an active, growing operation with opportunities across restoration, construction, and business development.
What We Look For in Every Candidate
Character First
Certifications can be earned. Equipment can be learned. Character is harder to teach. Across every department and every branch, CRBR looks for team members who show up reliably, communicate honestly, treat customers with genuine respect, and hold themselves to the same standard whether someone is watching or not.
Restoration work puts technicians inside people’s homes and businesses during some of the most stressful moments of their lives. That responsibility requires a specific kind of person — one who takes the job seriously, handles difficult situations calmly, and understands that how they work is as important as what they accomplish.
Core Qualities We Value
Across all roles and all branches, we look for candidates who bring:
- Reliability — showing up on time, every time, ready to work
- Attention to detail — thoroughness that protects both the customer and the company
- Communication — clear, honest communication with the team, supervisors, and customers
- Physical readiness — many field roles require lifting, carrying equipment, and working in varied conditions
- Composure — the ability to stay steady in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
- Willingness to learn — a growth mindset that makes every new job an opportunity to get better
The CRBR Hiring Process
Simple, Respectful, and Clear
We don’t believe in drawing out the hiring process unnecessarily. When we’re interested in a candidate, we move. Here’s what you can generally expect:
- Submit your application — through the careers portal or by contacting your nearest branch directly
- Initial conversation — a phone or in-person conversation with a branch manager or HR representative to discuss the role, your background, and mutual fit
- In-person interview — for most positions, a meeting at the branch location, and in some cases a working interview or job shadow
- Offer and onboarding — if it’s a good fit on both sides, we extend an offer and get you started with orientation and training
Throughout the process, we aim to be direct and respectful of your time. You’ll always know where you stand, and you’ll always get a real answer.
